Men in March
These two photos by The Sartorialist caught my eye. I love the pops of color in what they're wearing.

Also from The Book Cover Archive, three vibrantly complex examples. I love the tension between the titles and the art.

I've stumbled onto my latest favorite time-vacuum. The Book Cover Archive edited and maintained by Ben Pieratt and Eric Jacobsen.
I'm struck by these three covers in particular. The top and bottom images are completely arresting. And the image in the middle, the Updike book, might be minimalist perfection.
How can a shirt express my mood so well?
T-Shirt by Sonia Rykiel at Bird, an intriguing business in Brooklyn.

I was sorry to miss this Israeli movie when it came to theaters last year. The preview was promising. I remembered it because the preview was really a beautiful short film. If you're looking for a dreamy surrealist movie with lots of female characters, I recommend it. The story of a Filipino care-taker struggling in a foreign country alone is worth the watch.

Antwerp state of mind
I discovered two things today. The poetic, calming store/site miekewillems.com and the name "Mieke" ("Mee-kah"). My new favorite name. These pictures are from her flickr. site

M just turned me on to an image/art/sharing/bookmarking site called FFFFOUND!
I found the above images which led me to their respective sites/blogs/etsy pages. It's great fun. Check it out.

If (when...) I go back to Sweden and if (when?) I have more funds than now I'd like to stay at the Hotel Birger Jarl. Every room has a different interior designer.

"I tried making potatoes like yours but they weren't."
The Metropolitan Museum of Art is showing a vast collection of American postcards (9,000) collected by Walker Evans.
And Slate has an interest-piquing slide show exploring the "nonarty sort of beauty" that Walker Evans saw in the most plain postcards. The line about potatoes was written by Diane Arbus to Evans, on a postcard of course.

Sometimes I just want to look at something really cute. So I bought these postcards from Japanese designer yuuco. Check out her shop at Blue bonbon.

Going through some of my favorite fashion-blog images. These all happen to be by the inimitable Sartorialist.
Sometimes I thank god for the internet because without it there would be no Sartorialist.
